Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 September 2026

This policy explains what Name the Hue ("we", "us"), operated by Nicholas Pierides, collects and why. We keep it to the minimum needed to run the game.

1. What we collect

  • Account details - if you sign in: your email address and a display name.
  • Gameplay data - your puzzle results, guess counts, streaks, and accuracy, so your stats sync across devices.
  • Subscription data - if you buy Name the Hue Pro: a Stripe customer/subscription reference and your subscription status. We do not receive or store your full card number - Stripe handles payment details directly.
  • On your device - we use local storage for preferences (theme, reduced motion) and your current board. This stays in your browser; it isn't sent to us and isn't used for tracking.

2. How we use it

To run the game, save and sync your progress, provide and bill Name the Hue Pro, and keep the Service secure. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

3. Who we share it with (processors)

  • Supabase - hosts our database and handles sign-in.
  • Stripe - processes payments and subscriptions.
  • Cloudflare - provides privacy-friendly, cookieless traffic analytics (no cookies, no personal data).

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We don't share your data with anyone else except where required by law.

4. Retention

We keep your account and gameplay data while your account exists. Cancel a subscription and the billing relationship ends; delete your account and we remove your associated data (some records may be retained where law requires, e.g. payment records held by Stripe).

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these - or to delete your account - contact us at ngpierides@gmail.com.

6. Children

Name the Hue isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their data.

7. Changes

We'll update this policy as needed; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
